from the water, there she is—

It’s only right that Ehime Ora enjoys star-gazing; her work teaches us that the skies will continue to make space for our expansion. Ehime is an African scholar, writer, artist, and priestess-in-training who has dedicated her life to facilitating ancestral connections, generational healing, and personal alignment for people who need it the most. She is the author of Ancestors Said: 365 Introspections for Emotional Healing, which she independently published in 2021 and re-published through Hay House in July 2023. Currently, she is working on her next book, Spirits Come From Water, which will be released in October 2024 through Hay House.

Ehime’s work makes space for joy, introspection, and spiritual well-being. Her work draws influence and inspiration from African philosophy, ancestral arts, and technology. She studies cosmology, time, and astrophysics through an African ancestral lens. She shares her timeless wisdom with empathy and intention, equipping others with the necessary tools to think for themselves and think through their healing.

Ehime has been drawn to global spiritual practices since she was a young child growing up in Ibadan, Nigeria before immigrating to the states. Her search for the Creator inspired her to build a life rooted in religious pluralism. She is formally initiated into Yoruba’s Ifá, Sango, Erinle and Osun. Ehime holds ancestral connections to various mami wata spirits within Urhobo’s Igbe-Ame and Edo’s Iha Ominigbon.

Ehime is a multidisciplinary artist who leverages mediums such as spoken word, photo/videography, painting, and sculpting as avenues for lineage healing and ancestral remembrance. She credits her mother for teaching her the power of storytelling, spoken word, and written word–lessons that have proven to be integral to Ehime’s work, art, and life.

As an alumna of Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship and Brooklyn College, Ehime has presented her research at various academic conferences regarding African spiritual art. She also teaches at her Patreon, where she studies with community members interested in the intersection of spirituality, arts, and science. She plans to pursue her PhD in the philosophy of religion, aesthetics, and metaphysics.

With gratitude to Agbongbon Falowo Ojose Esubiyii Adeola for formally initiating her into the Ifá practice—Ehime Ora (also known as Fawole Sangodosu Erinfunto Osunfunmike) has transitioned to studying Ifá with Chief Awosanmi Osuntogun Sekou Alaje and Iya Osun Osunsina Alaje in 2024. Under elders connected to her family lineage, Ehime Ora begins her journey with Igbe-Ame and Iha Ominigbon.

Ehime is Reiki II certified from Houiea Love, where she entered the lineage of ancestral healing through energy work.

Ehime is ADHD and Autistic. Her neurodivergency informs her spiritual work and provides her with an opening towards making her teachings more accessible for various learning styles.
